I'm sure that many of you who have read these Blogs since I started keeping an electronic record of my/our travels, are, by now, exceedingly tired, nay bored, with the output.
Perhaps an apology is due but as with all previous Blogs, I do again offer an opportunity to unsubscribe although this time, I don't propose to e-mail you everytime I upload a new dispatch and photos. It will be your choice to log into the Blog if the urge arises to see what we have been upto?
However, if by some chance you are interested in my output over the next six weeks, simply e-mail me to let me know that you would really, really like to be advised when I have scribed and uploaded something new and very interesting and I will contact you immediately. I'm not expecting too many takers so please don't feel obligated!
And so today, Wednesday 13th January - I'm glad it's not a Friday - we head off to the sunshine of the Western Cape, more precisely Somerset West, where we have again rented the beautiful home of a retired British Airways Captain.
This year is slightly different however as we will next week be joined by our great friends, Ann and Paul, who will be making their first trip to South Africa to enjoy a well deserved rest after an incredibly hectic last four months. They definitely need to recharge their batteries.
Additionally, during our stay, we will be seeing daughter Sarah for a few days. She is actually spending just over a week with some fellow flight crew friends, one of whom, Ellie, was on the same BA Cadet course all those years ago. We are hoping to meet up with Ellie, Helen and Sarah a couple of times while they are staying in a lovely apartment complex in Bantry Bay. Sarah will also be resting awhile with us in Somerset West during her holiday in the Western Cape.
Our final vistors in the form of big brother Stuart and his wife Terri join us for a week on 17th February after Ann and Paul return to the UK. We will be with them for an additional week before we are replaced by some of their friends, Paul and Liz, who are also visiting the Cape for the first time.
I'm not going to provide any commentary on our flight down, suffice to say that we have confirmed seats. Yippee! Mind you, I hadn't realised that the 3rd Test Match between England and South Africa starts in Johannesberg tomorrow and it perhaps explains why the flight tonight is totally full. I'm neither great on forward thinking nor planning but things do have a tendency to work out. Oh no! Another death kiss!!
With the exception of predominatly blue skies and warm sunshine, we have no idea what the next few weeks holds in store. Hopefully, I will have something to write about albeit definitely not on a daily basis.
Next update? I have no idea.
